Please help I beg!

Image
So the other day I noticed some leaves missing from my pepper plant and thought it was odd they just disappeared like didn’t see them on the ground or anything. Well yesterday I found a hornworm dead on the ground from the storm and the dread came over my body that that may be the reason. So I checked my plant and there was one horn worm on it. Well I see on my other pepper plant a couple leaves missing and I’m WORRIED! I looked it up and saw they can DEMOLISH a whole plant overnight and now that I think about it I literally woke up one day to all the leaves on my other pepper plant gone mysteriously but I didn’t know they could mess up the plant so quickly 🥲 I wanna know the most FOOL proof way to PREVENT them. Because sitting there tryna look through the plant and find them suckers was SO HARD (they’re so good at blending in 🥲) I wanna know what will 10000% keep them away please!!!! My plants and I thank you in advance!

What is happening to the leaves of my Viburnum bush? Thank you in advance,

How do I develop a green thumb?

Image
I swear I have a black thumb. Any plant I care for dies.I plant herbs in window boxes, water them daily, they wither and die. Same for herbs in pots. I even set up a growlight in my kitchen, and they all just died.I transplant something, it dies. I got fancy soil to try to make my African violet bloom, now it's mostly dead.If I try gardening outdoors, the weeds take over. We have a raised garden bed that is currently full of 10'+ tall giant ragweed. I have a front flower bed with a couple roses, some beebalm, and WEEDS. Nothing else will take.Help??

Despite (several) groundhog attacks, my sunflower did the thing!

Taking Over A Wonderful Garden

Image
We are moving into a new home at the end of September and the current owner has a wonderful flower/vegetable garden. I am meeting with them in a few weeks to get a brief rundown on the garden and the plants there. I have minimal gardening experience but I really want to do a good job maintaining the wonderful grounds and am turning to Reddit for good questions to ask the current ownerThe house is located in north central Vermont so the vegetable garden will likely be done for the season and im assuming not much planting takes place before winter. TLDR moving into a garden in VT and want to ask the right questions to get the pertinent info to keep it going

How do I get my plants to grow something like this?

Image
https://ift.tt/G0Qhqgx

Is it fine to grow a cedar tree in my garden if my garden is only 25 metres squared? I.e roughly 6 by 4 metres? I heard that roots can grow so wide that they will damage underground structures. I live in a terraced house in UK

App for plant collection?

Image
Hello my fellow gardeners!Recently I have been using google a lot to identify random plants growing on our land, some small ones between the gravel, or random pretty wild flowers 🌸😍Because of the variety of plants and flowers I have seen, also at some of the places that I work (I help people with their gardens, and also part time at a graveyard) I had wondered if there is an app (for iOS) where I can track a collection of the different greenery I see. So I can make my own “album” with it.If you know any apps like that, please share! Thanks in advance! 😇

Buddleia (Butterfly Bush) - Planting Advice Needed

Image
Hi, I’m kinda new to gardening but I can grow plants. I’d just like some tips on how to grow a buddleia. I know that they’re invasive, and the bushes can grow absolutely massive. My question is, how is best to plant them without them invading anything (cracks in the path and such)? My coworker loves buddleias, and she said her grandad used to have blue and white ones, so I want to grow her some. I just don’t want the plant to spread all over my garden. Any advice?

First time my plumeria has bloomed in 2 years. I’m so very happy!

Has anyone tried planting Hoya / other 'indoor' plants in the ground / outdoors?

Image
I have a few variations of Hoya which is a vigorous climbing species that gets up to 1.5m long and typically grown indoors as houseplants, however i've always wondered if it would survive if planted in the ground under a part-shade spot. I live in a frost-free temperate climate if that helps.Has anyone ever tried this?

Some of you thought I wouldn’t go thru with a maternity shoot for our mutant baby zucchini but here’s the thing fam, we’re pretty weird and we hate to disappoint the Internet. 5lbs 6oz of delicious.

A question about strawberries...

Image
I planted a strawberry plant about a month ago. Within that time, I came to learn that strawberry plants lasts for about 3-5 years. So once they start to reach their last years, can I replace them by growing another plant through the seeds (The small fruits) on the strawberries grown on the plant itself?

What eats 20+ slugs overnight? (and drinks beer)

Image
Hey everyone! My parents have a pretty big garden and they've been complaining about slugs. I've looked online and read the beer hack, so yesterday evening we placed an old tray with beer on the ground.A few hours later, there were already 20-ish slugs in the tray (some still alive, some I presume drowned in the beer) and at least 30 others a few feet around the tray, clearly heading the same direction. This morning when we went to check - nothing. There was no slug anymore, not even the already dead ones, and the tray was dry and empty. No slugs around the tray either.I was shocked to say the least. What animal/insect could have eaten this many slugs overnight? For context, we frequently have stray cats and dogs in our garden, but I don't think they're into slugs (my cats and dogs don't even bother smelling them). We've also seen a bunch of different types of mice over the years and a random hedgehog as well. I've thought about insects but there was no trace

Do these foxgloves still have a chance, they were sown 2 weeks ago and were kept moist - not wet. Don’t see any signs of life 😅

What is it called in english?

Image
I am trying to google ideas for vertical farming, but not the hydroponic ones.I have build something that can best be described as a wooden shelf with boxes. It has a base and two shelfs, doubling the planting area it takes up. I build it out of an old pallet. It is not the best design, so I am looking for ideas for better construction and maximizing planting area. The only thing that comes to mind is "raised garden bed", but the search results only gives me these kind of stairs where you have a planting area in different heights and not really giving you extra planting space. What are some good words I can google so I can find what I am searching for?

Do decent quality garden sprayers make a fine mist?

Image
I'm not looking for specific product recommendations because I'm probably not in your country.I've had two inexpensive garden sprayers and neither could spray finely like a hand sprayer. If tightened enough, they would simply not spray in the correct direction.Do most good garden sprayers have a fine spray pattern or are they just not designed for that?

How?? Every time I try to grow tomatoes this stupid moth always appears out of nowhere. How do I get rid of tuta?
