How to grow cassava indoor in winter?

Image
I live on the east coast, US. What do I need? I already ordered 4 cassava stems from Etsy.I used to eat cassava leaves a lot when I grew up overseas, my fave veggie. I occasionally buy cassava leaves at the international grocery store here, but have to drive 1.5 hour and it cost me $9 per serving, more expensive than salmon.

What to do about fungi growing in my vegetable garden?

Image
In the last week, fungi have started growing in the soil in my vegetable garden. I know they're good for the soil. My concern is my health. If I pick some salad leaves that have been rubbing up against a wild mushroom and then eat the salad, could I get sick? Are the fungal spores and mycelia poisonous? Do fungal spores and mycelia rinse off under water? Should I remove the fungi or change the soil so it's safe to eat the veg? Thanks

Succulents are very stretched, I'm afraid the stem will break, how to fix them?

how to remove a stump fast?

Image
hi, I need to remove a small tree/bush for my fence project. I was able to remove most of branches and the trunk myself but the stump is really hard for my saw. The stump is only < 10 inches wide. I wonder if someone knows how to remove the stump in a 2-3 week period. thank you!

How to get rid of moss in the gravel

Image
It looks like ants have pushed up the sand, which allows moss and other weeds to grow. I would like to take a long-term approach to clean this up so just pulling out the weeds and keeping the sand in would not solve the actual problem. I do understand it isn't possible to prevent this at all since nature will find its way, but I'm looking for the best approach here. What would be the best approach to get rid of the moss, weeds and sand in the gravel?moss in the gravel

Winterizing Chicago Hardy Figs

Image
I purchase a few of these from Lowes this year. They are in pots, about 6 to 8 inches tall. I live in zone 5b/6 ( Middle of Indiana ).What do I need to do to winterize them correctly? Just put them in the garage? Leave them outside in the pots ( I can place them under the patio furniture covers ), but out of the wind?Other suggestions?

Overgrown Garden Filled with Dog Poop

Image
Hi,I really don't know much about gardening other than to keep the grass short and i really need some advice. I've moved into a new place and the garden is like overgrown and patchy so it doesn't have like just one even growth of grass, it's just not been looked after not to say the previous owner didn't pick up any poop from their dog by the looks of it. I can't live here with a garden like this so i need to tackle the issue i dont want to do it the wrong way.The only logical way i can think to tackle this is hose the grass down to get it wet and rake it from top to bottom to gather all dog poop and then remove that followed by strimming the entire garden to make it somewhat even. Then disturbing the soil with a pitchfork in the whole garden and covering with top soil and grass seed and then just keeping on top of it after that. Is my though process right sorry i have no idea what im doing, i'm open to suggestions completely.

What is the best way to save seeds

Image
I bought a big ol jack-o-lantern pumpkin and I want to save the seeds to grow my own in future years instead of buying a new one. Can I just leave the seeds to dry at room temperature or what is the best way?

Compacted soil?

Image
Hello. I have 2 plants that are confusing me, when i stick the moisture meter in the soil, it shows "Moist", when i put my finger in (not as deep) the soil seems dry, the sides of the soil have come off the pot and when i lift the plant from the stem the entire soil around is like a stiff block. The leaves are fine (not drooping or showing negative signs), but I'm always confused as to whether the soil is actually moist or dry. Is it time to water them or not? Is that what some people call as "compacted soil"? Any ideas on how I can deal with that is appreciated...

I need help on this

Image
So I recently moved to another apartment because it has a better view and better signal and I just happened to find these 2 cactus plants that the previous tenant either forgot or abandoned, I'm only a college student so I did what I know and buy a bigger pot as well as a potting mix for cactus. The cactus already look like they are about to give up but I'm hoping someone could help me on how to make them healthy again, It would be a shame if they just die knowing I could do something, I hope they are not.https://ift.tt/52Y4q3o
