I’ve read mushrooms support plant growth and vice versa. Has anyone ever planted mushrooms in their garden beds? Is this an insane idea ? I just think they’re so cute 😅. If someone has what kind of mushrooms did you plant?
Hi folks,I've moved my cucumber plants into the greenhouse when they outgrew their pots, and they've been trying to commit suicide ever since. They've started to droop and look like they're dying. I'm not sure what to do to help them. I've tried adding some fertilizer (earthworm poo), some long-term fertilizer (horn shavings), adding more water, nothing seems to help them. The weather hasn't been great, but I do have heating in the greenouse which turns on in case it drops below 1 degree. As far as I know the night temps haven't fallen below 3. The plants are in a raised bed, inside the greenhouse, the top soil layer is quite dry, but it's quite moist when you dig underneath. I don't think they're taking up much water. The other plants are happy in the same conditions, tomatoes are doing well, salads are doing well, but cucumbers look awful. Should I just give up and replace them with something else, or is there a way to rescue them? I can d...
Hello everyone. I want to start growing food in my yard. However, the soil is very clay and very dead. Every attempt at starting something has died, aside from a couple of non-edibles that ended up being very stressed. Nothing I plant starts or takes, regardless of how religiously I follow care guides, though I’ve only tried some herbs, peas etc at this point.I am not a total notice to gardening, but the soil in my family home was such that I could just plant seeds in the ground in season and do nothing but water. Here, nothing grows back there except weeds. I have effectively no money to use on things like soil or fertilizers; I’m using food stamps to buy seeds from grocery stores. I have basic gardening tools like a hoe but that’s it.Does anyone know of a guide to get started growing for my area, or have any advice to share?
