Liquid vs Granular Fertiliser


Sorry I'm new to this but is there any point using both or just use one? Example: using granular for start of growing season or every 6-8 weeks and using liquid every few weeks?

Hi there! Very amateur gardener here looking for some advice about potatoes.I planted some main crop potatoes in late May. The plants seem to have grown really well through the summer. Flowers have bloomed, died off and bloomed again.I read that I should cut down the foliage once it starts to yellow and die back, and harvest a weeks or so later.So I’m 4 months in and the plants look as healthy as ever. Do I carry on waiting? Or cut back based on the timeframe?

How do I rescue these cucumbers?

Hi folks,I've moved my cucumber plants into the greenhouse when they outgrew their pots, and they've been trying to commit suicide ever since. They've started to droop and look like they're dying. I'm not sure what to do to help them. I've tried adding some fertilizer (earthworm poo), some long-term fertilizer (horn shavings), adding more water, nothing seems to help them. The weather hasn't been great, but I do have heating in the greenouse which turns on in case it drops below 1 degree. As far as I know the night temps haven't fallen below 3. The plants are in a raised bed, inside the greenhouse, the top soil layer is quite dry, but it's quite moist when you dig underneath. I don't think they're taking up much water. The other plants are happy in the same conditions, tomatoes are doing well, salads are doing well, but cucumbers look awful. Should I just give up and replace them with something else, or is there a way to rescue them? I can d...

Lemon tree overwintering

Hi folks,I'm trying to look after my lemon tree, it's in a big pot (60cm) and I've moved it to the greenhouse, which has an automated heater when the temperatures drop below 3 degrees celsius. I've noticed today that the leaves are starting to curl up a little. The soil feels moist, so I'm really reluctant to overwater the tree in winter. The heater couldn't have been on much so far, as the temperatures are only now starting to sink below 3 degrees. Humidity inside the greenhouse is around 95% and the other plants (olives and grapefruit) are not showing any signs of stress (yet).Should I do something about it? Water more? Increase heating? Reduce humidity?I barely managed to save it last year and it made a wonderful recovery, so I'm really anxious now :)Thanks!
