Planting in Pots vs Into the Earth


Has anyone considered what the consequences are for the Earth as a living environment being denied a return of resources/nourishment by the popularity of container gardening?I understand not everyone has the available space to plant directly into the Earth and container gardening isn't something I'm against... We as a species have been attempting to keep our food safe from others for far too long to completely discontinue the practice and No-one is looking to dismantle anyone's greenhouseI'm just curious if anyone has thought about what we might be giving up as far as future resources being replenished that we use currently like natural oil that takes things dying and decomposing over long periods of time to eventually create. We've certainly seen movements to plant things other than green lawn grass in our yardsHopefully this question doesn't seem too sophomoric to be taken seriously 😏

Our garden is absolutely full of weeds and clover and they're all around the plants. How do we fix this? A lot of the plants are too close together to use a machine for it. We don't want to lose our garden

For context it has been storming nearly every single day here and the clover and weeds are thriving and we haven't been able to get to them. My dad just died so it's just me (21F) and my grandma. I have very severe asthma and the smoke in the air makes it difficult for me to work outside and my grandma is nearly 70. What do we do?

I am a Greek student in Sweden studying marketing and I am doing research related to community gardens, more specifically how community gardens act as spaces for citizens to express resistance to urbanization and food culture.
